CHATSWORTH SECONDARY SCHOOL TURNS 50!

Chatsworth High School opened its doors to the  public in 1964. The School, located in Lennie Naidu Drive in Bayview, Chatsworth, Durban in the province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, served not only the community of Bayview, but soon became the most prestigious secondary school in Chatsworth and indeed the greater Durban itself. Since sports and academics became its main focus of distinction,  the school over the years produced many graduates who have become prominent and successful in the sporting, political, business, medical, legal and academic fields.
Many  of us owe our success to our alma mater. Chatsworth High School served a critical period in our lives when our secondary school influence paved the way for tertiary studies for many, followed by successful careers. So, we have lots to be thankful for. And the roots of our success can certainly be traced back to a school we all hoped we could attend, because at the time Chatsworth Secondary School produced the best matriculants of all schools.
And now 50 years later, a focus on Chatsworth Secondary sees a school still catering for the educational needs of the same community, but this time, the school is in a serious need of a complete refurbishment. Everyone of us should feel a sense of pride in giving back a little to recreate the wonderful and prominent school Chatsworth Secondary once was. 

CHATSWORTH SECONDARY SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

It is in this spirit that the Chatsworth School Development Project is born. It is simply a project of the community for the community. As the school continues to serve the vital educational needs of the Chatsworth Community, it is hoped that learners of the school enjoy their secondary schooling in a warm, supportive and comfortable environment, surrounded by all the necessary tools and resources  that will provide these students with the best possible chance to excel academically.

The Vision

The Vision of the Chatsworth Secondary Project is to provide the platform to refurbish and transform the School into a respectable institution that every current and future Learner and Educator of the School will be proud to be associated with. A school that learners will be proud to attend and a school which will produce the future generation of distinguished scholars.
Currently the school in a sad state of disrepair which is simply not conducive to studying. Therefore, please join us to radically transform the school into one which will give us a deep sense of satisfaction for having played a role in reshaping the future generations of learners who will attend the school.
The project which will be detailed in the following pages is simple and designed to rapidly transform the school. Every past student of the school, including any individual or business executives who share the same vision, is invited to contribute to making the project a success.
Any suggestions regarding ideas to develop the School will be gladly welcome. After all, this is your project, to uplift the lives of our future learners.
